EP – XOBC EP

“XOBC” is a five track EP released exclusive to i-tunes for Valentines Day on February 8 2010. It reached number 1 on the Folk Album charts. Released only digitally, there is also a CDr master out in the wild a few collectors have.

It was released off the back of Give Up The Ghost months earlier.

As posted on Brandi Carlile socials at the time the EP “is available now exclusively through iTunes for only $3.99! The EP features three new original songs, “Us Again,” “Way To You,” and “Love Songs” as well as two amazing covers, including “All You Need Is Love” (The Beatles) and “Heaven” (Bryan Adams). All You Need Is Love – (Beatles cover) The entire band credited with percussion on the song. (no drum credit on this track)
Love Songs – Brandi Carlile is the sole writer credit on this. It was written long before the EP, with live performances as early as 2007. In her memoir “Broken Horses”, Brandi Carlile says this song originally was written about and during her “in-loveness” era with an un-named woman, and that it eventually took on a life where when she sings it now – she really sings it for herself and about herself.
Way To You – Tim Hanseroth is the sole writer credit on this, Brandi plays Ukulele on this. Rarely performed live, they did sing it on ep 3 of the covid era Carlile Quarantine Compound Shows.
Us Again – Brandi Carlile & Twins credited with writing. Brandi plays Banjo. Phil plays guitar (not bass) on this track. The band for this song all worked on Give Up The Ghost sessions. (was this recorded at same time and not included?) Also performed live during the at home shows in 2020.
Heaven – (Bryan Adams cover) – Brandi plays Organ on this.
