In These Silent Days is the seventh full-length studio album by Brandi Carlile and was released in 2021. It’s the follow up to their breakout album, By The Way, I Forgive You, and is largely written in response to Brandi Carlile’s memoir Broken Horses launched in early 2021.
In September 2022 Brandi Carlile announced a new delux release of In These Silent Days called In The Canyon Haze – a dreamy, Laurel canyon inspired re-recording of every song on In These Silent Days. Lush with harmonies and a new duet with Catherine Carlile of You and Me on the Rock. (inspirations from Mama Cass, Crosby Stills & Nash, Joni Mitchell).
The delux version also includes the cover of David Bowie’s Space Oddity, which would become a staple of the band’s 2022 tour. Brandi Carlile has said that since this version was recorded, she’s moved on and improved the vocal in live performances.
The delux album was ‘launched’ in a IMAX live concert streamed at select theatres around the country and was shot in a private home in Laurel Canyon.
The CD version was released straight away with the Teal and Orange double vinyl being released on Record Store Day Black Friday 25th November 2022.
