This is the very first KUT 90.5 FM Live album to be released by this public radio station from Austin, Texas. Many followed on from this.
Live Radio releases (CD and Vinyl) are a unique way to time-stamp an artist performing live (and usually acoustically) at a point in their career.
This particular one is one of the very first (if not the first) live recordings from Brandi, Tim and Phil that was released as a Radio Station CD. (read our growing extensive list over here).
The song performed is a cover of the country standard, Blue Eye’s Crying in the Rain – most notably famous from Willie Nelson’s version in 1975. The band recorded it on January 27th 2006 in Kut’s Studio 1A. They’d only just released their debut album, so it’s unusual it’s this particular cover song that was chosen as the track.
It’s a great archive track to listen to as the harmonies are beautiful.
