Sara Bareilles, premiered a song, Salt, then Sour, Then Sweet, co-written with Brandi Carlile at the documentary premiere of Come See Me in the Good Light, at the Sundance Film Festival. Of note, Brandi and Catherine Carlile are executive producers of the documentary.
Come See Me In The Good Light, follows a year in the lives of two poets, Andrea Gibson and Megan Falley. Andrea Gibson has incurable cancer, and the film follows their journey. Their friend Tig Notaro, wrangled some people who all became executive producers of the documentary. They included, Tig Notaro, Brandi & Catherine Carlile, and Sara Bareilles and Glennon Doyle and Abby Wambach And Amanda Doyle. Ryan White produced it.
The song Salt, then Sour, Then Sweet, sung by Sara Bareilles features in the film, was a co-write between Brandi Carlile and Sara Bareilles and Andrea Gibson. The words , (poem) was penned by Andrea Gibson and given to Sara and Brandi to pen the song. So far it’s only available as part of the documentary, however in the podcast hosted by Glennon Doyle, Abby Wambach and Amanda Doyle, We Can Do Hard Things, Megan Falley came on and mentioned that there may be a futher version which also features Brandi’s vocal.
