Staring Down The Brilliant Dream

This 2010 double live album by the Indigo Girls features a guest appearance Brandi Carlile on the Bob Dylan track Don’t Think Twice, It’s All Right.

The live album features songs from their touring between 2006 to 2009. The double CD is packaged beautifuly with two booklets, and track notes for every song. The liner notes for this track reads:

“We had several versions of this song live with Brandi. It was hard to pick. Playing this song with Brandi is just a romp, and Amy really tears it up on mandolin. When I first heard her mandolin lead, I was like, “whoa!! When did you learn that. We also used to play this song live with Joan Baez.“

Brandi Carlile had first appeared on an Indigo Girls album in 2006, with their Despite Our Differences album, and they in-turn contributed to the 2007 album The Story and the song Cannonball.

Brandi and the band also joined The Indigo Girls for their 2009 “Live at the Roxy” event which was released on DVD. Brandi provides vocals on 8 songs.
