Brandi Carlile has stated she’s been a die-hard fan of Elton John since she was 11.
She invited him to play and sing on their Give Up The Ghost honkytonk style track “Caroline” and have formed a deep friendship.
During the 2020/21 pandemic lockdown Elton John created a collaboration album called The Lockdown Sessions with a whole bunch of artists including Brandi Carlile. They sang the duet Simple Things, with Phil and Tim Hanseroth also providing backing vocals.
In November 2022, Elton invited Brandi Carlile to join him on stage at his very last US live concert at Dodger Stadium, which was also televised globally on Apple+.
The album is one of a very few available on Cassette that Brandi Carlile and band feature on.
