On 23th February, 2025, Brandi Carlile released a new song – Wandering, Feat. the indiginous group The Makah Singers.
Written on commission for the NBC show The Americas, it was co-penned by Brandi Carlile and Catherine Carlile. It was also produced by Brandi Carlile. Brandi Carlile shared in a fan event in May 2024 that it had music or drums she recorded from an indigenous group of people she’s in touch with. It was later revealed this was The Makah Singers.
The song featured in the promotion for the upcoming show, and then was in the premiere episode on 23rd February.
The credits on the song also include the Hanseroth Twins, including an unusual credit for drums by Phil, as well as familiar production credits including, mixer Brandon Bell, mastering Pete Lyman and keyboards Dave Mackay, who are all regulars in the Brandi Carlile band family.
The song so far is only available via digital platforms and not on physical formats and as part of the digital soundtrack. The actual series soundtrack was written by the legendary Hans Zimmer and is released by Back Lot Music – a record label and subsidiary of Universal Pictures.
