The 2019 Tanya Tucker album While I’m Livin produced by Brandi Carlile and Shooter Jennings.

Brandi Carlile was the genisis for driving Tanya Back into the studio after nearly 20 years. She also produced, co-wrote and did guest vocals on this album. The album’s making was documented in a film released in 2022 called “The Return of Tanya Tucker – Featuring Brandi Carlile” directed by Kathlyn Horan. (exec produced by Brandi). (originally slated to be called “Delta Dawn, then and now. The Return of Tanya Tucker”.)

Wheels of Laredo was written by Brandi Carlile, (and Phil and Tim Hanseroth)

The album garnered Tanya her first GRAMMY Award for Best Country Album. This highly acclaimed album includes the GRAMMY Award-winner for Best Country Song, “Bring My Flowers Now.”  – Co-written with Brandi Carlile.

Interestingly in a conversation with Chris Willman from Variety (conducted when Brandi produced Brandy Clark two tracks in 2021 using a lot of Tanya’s band) she said

Incidentally, I didn’t get to use Tanya’s band in the studio (on “While I’m Livin’”) because I didn’t know them yet. But then when I met ‘em, I was like, s—, Tanya’s band f—ing rules. And Jedd Hughes is somebody that Brandy works with all the time. That guy, my God — he blew my mind; I’m not going to lose his phone number. So it ended up being a group of people that we already were sort of finishing each other’s sentences and reading each other’s minds.
